This is my second year as the Intervention Coordinator here at Marvin Avenue. Part of being Intervention Coordinator consists of implementing the Early Language & Literacy Academy. Our ELLP Academies at Marvin aim to accelerate instruction and intervention for students in grades K-2 by targeting critical foundational literacy skills early as possible as preventive measure. With this targeted, data driven instruction, we aim to reduce referrals to Special Education.
As Intervention Coordinator, I am part of the Student Support and Progress Team. The purpose of the (SSPT) is to ensure students' needs are addressed and to provide a method to evaluate the effectiveness of school-wide Tier 1 systems and practices, including instruction and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports.
